Who can purchase from ALJP?
Educational institutions—including K-12 schools, libraries and postsecondary institutions can purchase from the ALJP contracts after submitting the eleemosynary (agreement) form.
Who is eligible to bid on ITB?
A Vendor who meets the ITB specifications once posted.
What is the Vendor Contact Registry?
The Vendor Contact Registry serves two purposes. Any email address listed on an awarded ALJP contract as a Contract Contact or a Sales Contact must have a listing on the Vendor Contact Registry. The complete Vendor Contact Registry, including email addresses not holding a contract or listed as a sales contact on a contract, serves as a mailing list to notify vendors of upcoming ITBs.
How does someone get on the Vendor Contact Registry?
Prospective vendors should begin by creating an account with the Alabama Identity Management (AIM) Platform. Once you have created the account, you will need to log in and complete the demographic data. AIM is a platform maintained by the Alabama State Department of Education.
Once you have set up your AIM account, email bradley.strother@alsde.edu.
Mr. Strother helps maintain the ALJP and will give your account the needed permissions to create your entry on the Vendor Contact Registry. You will need the E-Verify documentation for your firm to complete your entry, as required by Alabama law.

How do Vendors know when ITBs are posted?
A vendor can routinely check the ALJP Procurement Page (https://aljp.alsde.edu/Procurements.aspx). Vendors on the Vendor Contact Registry will get an email when new ITBs are posted on the Procurement Page.
What is the difference between RFP and ITB?
An Invitation to Bid (ITB) and a Request for Proposal (RFP) are both used to solicit bids from vendors, but they can differ in their focus and the level of complexity they address. ITBs typically target simpler projects where price is the primary evaluation criterion, while RFPs are used for more complex projects that require a detailed solution and consideration of factors beyond price.
Why is the Primary Contact for Vendors so important?
The Primary Contact for Vendors serves as the main point of communication for the school districts, ensuring efficient and clear communication, fostering strong relationships, and ultimately contributing to better performance and the elimination of missed opportunities.
How and when can information such as contacts, price lists, and resellers be updated or removed on ALJP?
These updates or removals can be made at any time by emailing the ALJP team.
If a Vendor does not bid, or hold a current contract, how can they become a reseller on an existing contract?
The Vendor can contact the contract holder and request to be listed as a reseller for their contract. The Contract Holder will contact the ALJP team and the changes will be made.
What is a mini-bid, and who can submit a mini-bid?
A mini-bid is one additional layer of bidding against those holding current ALJP contracts for similar products and/or services. The Technology Director is able to submit a mini-bid and receive those quotes via email.
